Home June the 14th A D 1864 “Dear Husband” Show day came bright and lovely And the Show was splendid every thing went of nice in the day time and I was highly delighted. Right here I must tell you that “Lue” has been a very good friend to me, he took me and my thrice little ones into the show (that is into the circus) and took Eastie and Sammie into all the side shows and bought lemonade and candie for them so that the dear little things did not mis their Papa much on that day. But as I was telling you Lue took us into the show in the day time so when evening came we came home quite contented and intended to stay home the rest of the day But Sue took a notion she would not go in the day show and so when night came she sent for me to come in and stay untill after the show so I could come home with her so Mother told me to go so I went in and staid at Mrs. E. Haskins Neus Baurm, came there and sit there most all the time the show lasted, he gave me a delightful discription of “Germany” and of his family, which made the time fly fast. Not that I injoyed his company much, but it was pleasanter to listen to his talk than it would have been to heat what Mrs Haskins would have said, And I was glad to hear some one talk that could of something that wasnt war Well after he got up and went away I went over to Mat, Bovies and Grand Mother, Haskins and we was seting there talking we heard a crash we went to the door and looked and here it was Salen Tex
